Rising, Beautifully

From Living with Dys to Rising, Beautifully

This isn’t my first time putting pieces of my life into words.

Years ago, I wrote a blog called Living with Dys, where I shared my journey living with chronic illness.

Writing was a way to share my experiences, my struggles, and the realities of living with something that other people couldn’t always see or understand.

And then, somewhere along the way, I stopped.

There wasn’t some big, dramatic reason.

Life happened.

My attention shifted to other things, and writing simply became something I no longer made time for.

But life kept happening.

And with it came experiences that left their own marks on me.

Pain. Heartbreak. Trauma.

Things I’m still trying to process. Feelings I’m still trying to understand. Parts of myself I’m still trying to find.

And lately, I’ve found myself wanting to write again.

Not because I have some incredible story of triumph to tell.

Not because I’ve figured out how to heal from everything I’ve experienced.

But because I need somewhere to put the things I’ve been carrying.

Somewhere to untangle the thoughts that keep circling in my head.

Somewhere to be honest about the things that hurt, the things that changed me, and the things I’m still trying to understand.

Living with Dys was about sharing my journey with chronic illness.

Rising, Beautifully is about sharing more of my journey—the emotional wounds, the heartbreak, the relationships, the insecurities, the healing, and everything in between.

Because I’m more than the things I’ve been through.

And I want to rediscover the woman underneath it all.

I’m not returning to writing because I have everything figured out. I’m returning because writing might help me figure some of it out.

And maybe, along the way, my words will help someone else feel a little less alone.
